Gateway Regionals

The Gateway Regionals are being held this weekend (April 28/29) for CYC's 11U teams, and next weekend (May 5/6) for the 12-18U teams.

14 Green and 13 Green medal at the Show Me National Qualifier

Congratulations to CYC 14 Green who played in the championship match of the 14 National Division last weekend at the Show Me NQ in Kansas City.  The team lost a hard fought match in the finals to AP 14 Samurai (17-25, 24-26) and came home with silver medals!

CYC 13 Green had another strong qualifier showing, finishing tied for 3rd out of 65 teams playing in the 13 Club Division and bringing home bronze medals!

Both CYC 12s teams and CYC 15 Green also competed in Kansas City last weekend:
CYC 15 Green placed 9th in a very tough field of 15 Open teams, including 7 teams that had already qualified at other tournaments.

CYC 12 Green finished 15th and CYC 12 Blue finished 23rd out of 39 teams competing in the 12 Club division.

St. Louis Volleyball Community Supports the Luenemann Family

On October 14th, 2011, Joan Luenemann, wife of Washington University head volleyball coach, suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage in her brain. The Luenemanns have strong ties to the community as well as to present and former volleyball players.

A benefit for the Luenemanns has been planned for SATURDAY, APRIL 21st at Washington University's South Campus from 12:30pm - 2:30pm.

There will be an alumni volleyball scrimmage to watch as well as contests, silent auctions (for stuff like Cardinals tickets and use of a condo for the weekend), raffles (for Asics shoes, volleyballs, lottery tickets and MORE), and various baked goods for sale. 

ALL PROFITS will go to helping the Luenemann family pay for Joan's medical expenses.

There is a $5 donation at the door (cash or check ONLY).

Show Me National Qualifier, Round 2

The younger age groups are in action this weekend in Kansas City as a part of the Show Me National Qualifier.

St. Louis CYC Volleyball has 5 teams competing this weekend:
12 Blue & Green are playing in the 12 Club Division
13 Green is playing in the 13 Club Division
14 Green is playing in the 14 National Division
15 Green is playing in the 15 Open Division

Tournament play began this morning and continues through Sunday.
